The most authentic Thai food I’ve found since my time in Thailand 3 years ago. A friend invited me for dinner on my birthday and this is the place they chose. Best birthday gift ever! If you want real Thai food - go here!

Amazing Thai food, they have takeout which is very convenient because it's 3 mins from home and you can call in an order and its ready within 20 mins. Grabbed some yellow chicken curry some delicious coconut soup with shrimp and some pad Thai. 😍

Thai Excellent has wonderfully made food and friendly service. I'd recommend their fresh Spring rolls and orange chicken.

Small place but i love their food!

Not worth your time and money. The beef had a really bad freezer flavor, the Tom kha soup was oddly very sweet, the green curry was bland...

I loved it, come here often since I found this place, food has flavor, people are kind and try to aim to please as far as customer service goes. Clean area, restroom available for customers, nice portions for your money. I anyways leave content and am glad to have found this place so close to home, beside I'd have to drive far and wait I'm long horrible lines. Strongly recommend thumbs up. And that's not easy considering I'm a hard cite critic when it comes to food.

Today was my first time going and I really enjoyed everything. The food was delicious and the lady who took orders and served the food was so sweet. The place is small but gives off cozy vibes. Will definitely stop by again to eat whenever I go to El Monte.

Small little hole in the wall. Owners are very nice. These are good hard working folks. Food is made with love. Big fan of garlic. Garlic lover is my favorite. Tom yum soup very good on a cold day. It may take a little for food to come out but worth the wait.

Excellent food and service. They cater to whatever you ask, the lady that takes the orders does an excellent job and making sure you are happy. Not in the best part of town, don't let that fool you, it is amazing food.

I regularly stop grabbing some food in this place. I liked the prompt service and well cooked dishes. Kudos.

This place is an absolute gem! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. For the week that I was in town, I came and ate about 4 times! Staff was so friendly and nice! The best Thai food since being in Thailand a few months ago! I’ve tried SO many places and this one is hands down my favorite so far! If you’re craving Thai food, don’t pass this place up! Can’t wait to go back to LA just to come here.

Good price, good quality

I have been to many Thai restaurants surrounding the El Monte area looking for the best one. In this area, Thai Excellente is the best. The physical restaurant is not elegant or modern but if you are only interested in the taste of the food, this is the place. When we lived in the area, it was our first choice for Thai food. We don't go as much but we still do delivery from them on occasion to work.

To be COMPLETELY honest this place is AWFUL. The seafood soup is horrible I had to throw it away. The curry was so watery and the chicken taste like rubber. It was a waste of money😡($28)... If you like Low quality Thai food then go for it! It was my first and Last time there.

Attitude that you'll get in some jungle bunny.I ask for extra ice, waitress makes faces.Bring your own lemon.Bring your own ice.Food okshe's you're spending $50 at least be a human.When you finish eating, she'll be smiling, why? Time to pay.

Very or the best food I have tried. I have been coming to this place around 15 years or more. Can't find other better place than this one. This is the best one that flavor is so good. I definitely would recommend it to anyone. Try phat Thai. The best.

Waited at the drive thru for over 5 mins, nobody even cared to acknowledged me.. finally someone walked around and told me "no more," 30 mins before there stated close time. Unprofessionalism defined..

Customized and authentic Thai food with a bit of Chinese influence. Definitely recommend the Mongolian beef if you like tender beef on the sweet side. Ga pow if you like spicy mint leaf, the chef lady is very easy to talk to so definitely feel free to have her change the dishes to your liking. The Pad Thai is also fragrant and nice presentation. The boat noodle is to die for in a cold wintery day.

The only restaurant that compares is Casa Oaxaca....in Oaxaca Mexico; so if you can't make the trip....head down to San Gabriel (of all places). Chef Roberto only uses the very best ingredients in whatever dishes he prepares, the finest sea foods and meats...his soups are beyond compare.

What planet are people on that give this place any stars!! Hair in my food and the worst Tom yum I’ve ever had literally. The water was decent. Waste of time and money. The lady was sweet so I didn’t make a fuss and paid but never again..🤮

The owner is friendly and the food meet its price!

The chicken sate skewers were also perfectly paired with this little dish of cucumber salad and peanut sauce. I think they should give more of the cucumber salad because it wasn't enough for the 5 skewers we received. Perfect appetizer to start off! The panang curry here is so flavorful and creamy. The mint leaves were plentiful (at least 10 big leaves floating around) and I think this is what set it apart from the other panang curries I tried at other restaurants. We also ordered the tom kha kai. It was delicious on a cold rainy day. However this dish didn't come with rice, which was a bit strange to us.. so we doubled up on my rice that came with the panang curry. The only reason why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5.. They do offer delivery. I would probably recommend this so you can eat your dishes at home with as much rice as you want :p

Didn't like the chicken Pad Thai I ordered; too sweet, strange taste. Like the fact that it was empty on Saturday lunchtime, so no waiting. But hard to find parking though.

I celebrated my PhD this evening in this delicious restaurant. happy to tell that it was a fabulous evening and the place was clearly the reason for that fruitful evening. The waiters contributed in a lovely manner, the cooking was very good and my guests were very glad. We shall no dout return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
